Higher Education Department - Introduction of Watanabe Sensei
For today, we will be sharing with you an interview we did with Ms. Watanabe A.K.A the heart of the higher education department.
１． What made you decide to become a Japanese teacher?
Answer: Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always liked to see foreigners talking on tv, watching them communicate, and I’ve always been interested in doing international-related work. I was also interested in words, and I wanted to convey “Japan” through it. When I was in my second year in Senior high school, I decided to become a teacher.
２．What is your happiest moment as a teacher?
Answer： It makes me happy inside out when I see students from different countries getting along together well while talking in Japanese.
３. What is something you consider, or you try to be careful about as a Higher Education Guidance Counselor?
Answer： We always try to create an environment or a space where the students can freely do consultations by interacting with them genuinely and make myself approachable and easy to talk to.
４． Is there anything you would like to say to the students who are going and will be taking the exam?
Answer: The only thing you can rely on yourself who has always been working hard. Please cherish the time you have “now”, so that you can give the best gift to yourself in the future.
５． Please give a message to our international students coming to Japan!
Answer：Being able to communicate in Japanese is not the goal. Use Japanese as a weapon to make your dreams come true. We will do our best to support you regardless.
