“Elite Japanese Language School” -Act to achieve goal and keep your faithエリート日本語学校

Introduction of Professor Wada

Today, we will be sharing with you the interview we had with one of our professors here in Elite, Mr. Wada—who is a reliable teacher when it comes to pursuing your higher education goals.

1.We heard that you were known for your “legendary charisma” when you were still teaching at a prep school. Is that true?

A: I used to aim to be charismatic, but it just stopped around 2013.

(Interview perspective: Not sure what happened back then?)

2.Why did you decide to become a teacher?

A: It started when I was teaching at preparatory school, I wanted to be able to capture more of the “subtleties” of the Japanese language.

Subtlety: The quality or state of being subtle or hard to notice. It can also mean a small but important detail.

(Interviewer perspective: I’m guessing it’s because he wanted to get along well with foreigners lol)

3.What is the most enjoyable moment as a Japanese Language teacher?

A: I would say, rather than it being “enjoyable”, I feel a sense of happiness whenever I see my students being able to use all the things that I have taught them. Also, recently, I enjoy discovering more about my students’ cultural background through their expressions.

4.As a guidance counselor, what are you most careful about?

A:  I always try to make use of the students’ experience and ideas. We never resort to fabricating things, we just try our best to think whatever reason that would fit the student’s liking for questions like “Reason for application” and other questions that can be asked during interviews.

The answers we come up with are rooted from the student’s experience and ideas, and we make an extra effort refine it so that the students can be able to express it in the best possible way. For me, that’s what I think what a Japanese language guidance counselor does.

※Fabrication – Creating something that doesn’t exist and act like it is a fact.

5.Please give a message to our future international students!

A:  I will be waiting to see everyone here in Japan.

Despite these trying times, I will continue to do my best to teach everyone all about “JAPAN”

I hope I can make you feel “JAPAN” regardless the distance or wherever you may be.

Mr. Wada is indeed an affectionate and a sincere professor and we cannot wait for you to meet Wada sensei to prove just that.

To hear more from Mr. Wada, more questions-and-answers from the interview which couldn’t fit in the article were posted in [和田先生FILE]. Feel free to read it if you like!

To our international students, we are looking forward to experiencing Japan with you.
