What is “OSEIBO?”

Oseibo, which translates to Year-end gifts in English is about giving gifts out of gratitude to those people who have taken care of you and who have shown you kindness throughout the year, expressing them that you are also looking forward to their company next year. Oseibo gifts are usually given around the 10th of December onwards.

Who do you usually send these gifts to?

Up until a few years ago, sending these gifts to your bosses, business partners with whom you have a business relationship with, relatives, etc. was the mainstream. But recently, giving year-end gifts to your family members, closest friends or acquaintances have also been a part of the so-called tradition.
